Chlorella Benefits As A Fresh Water Plant

By Casandra Newton

Before discussing chlorella benefits, it is important to comprehend what it is. Chlorella is a type of plant that grows in fresh water. It has a regular type of nucleus and it is a plant that has high chlorophyll content than other plants. It is a single celled algae that was discovered over two billion years ago. Chloros is a Greek word that means green and ella means small.

The above mentioned plant is unique; it performs many functions in the human body. It builds the immunity of the body system. Immunity helps to prevent diseases that may arise. There is a bacterium that gets released by chlorella that works in the body to cure constipation, ulcers, high blood pressure and high level of cholesterol. This happens in the gastrointestinal tract. The algae plant is also used on treatment of cancer and preventing the radiation from cancer treatment.

In Asia, the one celled algae is a type of food that is rich in a certain supplement. It is popular for production of energy if consumed in the human body. For centuries, the plant has earned its benefits to Asians and Japanese as it is nutritious and helpful to the health of a human beings. In both the traditional and modern societies, the chlorella plant has been of great use to people who are well informed of how it works. It has been known to be the best treatment of cholesterol levels in the body. It is also good as it helps in preventing of ultra violet rays to the human body.

The algae are rich in nutrients ranging from proteins, vitamins, minerals and amino acids which are all required in the human system. It supplies the required amino acids all over the body in appropriate ratios. The biochemical processes like hormonal balancing, work effectively inside the body of a human being since the plant provides fatty acids required for the function. Some of the minerals and vitamins include folic acid, magnesium, calcium, and pro vitamin A, biotin, inositol, vitamin C, B1, B2, B5, B6, B12 and many more.

Human beings have invented their own way of growing the plant outdoors in fresh water that they add minerals and chemicals. They grow it under direct sunlight, though the plant itself grows only in fresh water that is normal and not under direct sunlight. The natural adaption of the plant is what makes it have all the required essential benefits as above stated.

In laboratories, the trained personnel called the microbiologists help the laboratory plant by giving it the care it needs from the time it is put to germinate. They work with accuracy so as not to lose the value of the nutrients in it. It is rather difficult to maintain this plant though, as conditions are strict and cannot be done away with easily.

On harvesting the product, processing has a variety of normal green food such as barley, wheat grass, spirulina and seaweed which are added to the chlorella. Many research projects have been carried out about the algae to establish its instrumental uses in the medical and scientific fields. More findings are to be made to add to the current ones.

Cancer a killer disease attacks people and moves to different stages which at times cannot be treated. But in the research done by the Japanese, they found out that chlorella helps in curing of breast cancer in women if noticed in the early stages. Radiation being one of the important treatment of cancer, it leaves behind radioactive particles during the cancer therapy. These radioactive particles can result to an infection but when one takes the medicine product of chlorella, it is less likely to affect him or her. Further researches on the chlorella plant are ongoing, as there seems to be more to it. From the above discussion, it is clear that chlorella benefits the community in many ways.
